Back up’s is another thing, we always back up your images i three different Hard drives which are redundant and expensive to purchase every year. From lighting gear to computer and software purchases it does amass upto $30k-$45k in gear to shoot that perfect wedding.
2- EDUCATION
Proper education and being involved in constant upgrading your skills requires a lot of effort and money to learn from the best in the world. Continuing and evolving in photography every year makes us better photographers. I remember I used to spend over $2000-$3000 for each workshop hands on from the best of photographers in WPPI. The knowledge and experience that we got was immense and the results showed in the images. From Posing to lighting and then to composition to editing it takes time and effort to perform this craft ending in couple loving the result.
3 – Insurance
Insuring all those equipment every year and getting our damaged equipments for repairs also add the cost.
4 – Post-production
After the wedding, there is a whole process we go through. Right when we come home after the wedding, we download all of the images we took that day and make sure everything is backed up. It takes a good few hours to download the thousands of images from the wedding day. Backing everything up is crucial to ensure nothing is deleted or lost.
Once the images have been downloaded, we begin to cull images which can take between 8-10 days to narrow the selection down. After the photos have been culled, they are put into categories to make it easier for our couples to navigate through their photos. Once the photos have been selected and organized, it’s time to begin editing. We edit every image to make sure they are all consistent in their color balance with highlights, shadows and midtones.
Takes us close to over 8-12 weeks of constant editing to get the results out and countless hours spend on one single wedding.
5- ALBUMS
Our Unique Albums from ITALY are bespoke luxury albums and couples who love their images need to choice their wedding and engagement session in an album that oozes luxury and fine art paper. They cost around starting at $800 upto $5000 with different materials and spines and paper.
At the end of the day , couples pay exactly what they bargained for and they will get exactly that. If the couple is more inclined towards a best package deal , trust me it will only be a package deal with the uncle and auntie who are also running a pop up samosa shop in their backyard. They would definitely give you a better deal than us but not images. I can guarantee you my entire photography experience on that.
